About the Event

Role models and mentors are key to professional development. Through this EDI event, Science & Policy Exchange hopes to inspire graduate students and early-career professionals from a variety of backgrounds who wish to pursue an alternative path to academia and perhaps a career in science policy and/or government. We also wish to bring attention to the challenges BIPOC can face. Finally, we wish to explore the ways in which EDI is being promoted in the field of science policy and the changes helping organizations become more inclusive.

What are the obstacles or challenges faced in working in science policy for the BIPOC community? How is EDI integrated in different organizations across Canada? How can the next generation of researchers, scientists, and students contribute to making their environments more equitable and inclusive?

With the support of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, join Science & Policy Exchange in highlighting diverse voices working in the Canadian science policy landscape.
